Some of Life's Lessons

The story kept eluding me and I thought I would have to give these words a miss.  It took a while but the story finally made itself known!  I was looking forward to this week's new challenge and decided to take one more look at the group of words from Week 13.  (You know how I hate to give up!)  Here is my take on the Poetic License prompt.
